Long Island’s microbrewery “The Tap Dance” (TTD) just had its grand opening and it's safe to say it was a success! TTD specializes in local brews, and we even carry our very own IPA and gluten-free beer!
Wondering what a microbrewery is? You're in the right place!
A microbrewery is a brewery that produces small amounts of beer, usually less than large breweries. A microbrewery produces 15,000 barrels or less of beer per year. Another term for microbrewery that many might have heard is “craft brewery”. Breweries have been in existence since as early as the 1700s! Today, the micro-brewing industry has grown to have more than 1,600 breweries in the United States. Even though these breweries are still considered “micro”, many of them are not small anymore. That is why the term “craft brewery” was born. However, many “craft breweries” meet the description of “microbreweries”, since it is used to describe a brewery producing less than 15,000 barrels per year.
Since microbreweries have become increasingly popular, it is important now more than ever to support local breweries - especially during COVID-19 times. The Tap Dance offers small tasting rooms in addition to a bar for visiting customers. This is a feature that many microbreweries offer, but not all. While people might think breweries are not appropriate for children, sometimes you just can’t get someone to watch the kids, and are in desperate need for an enjoyable time out. Luckily, TTD offers a large section where children can run around and play, which goes along with the benefit of having a welcoming environment.
The Tap Dance is located on the water front on the south shore on Long Island, giving an amazing view to enjoy while enjoying a nice beer. It can be your first or last stop before enjoying a beach day in the summer, or a place to stop if you are looking for a fun outing in the colder months. Located just short of an hour outside of New York City, The Tap Room is the perfect location for all you beer lovers!
Now Offering Gluten-Free Beer and Own IPA
Something special that TTD offers is gluten-free beer! Upon seeing suggestions from the media for breweries in general, we saw what would satisfy our customers and accommodated in a way that a larger group could also enjoy a nice beer gluten-free style. This was important to us and helped us understand inclusivity within our company to all customers. In addition to gluten-free beer, TTD offers our very own IPA. IPA’s are typically a hit at breweries, and we wanted to provide a special experience with including our own IPA. If you are looking for a new incredible taste different than one you can find at your local bar, TTD’s speciality IPA is definitely one to try as it provides a smooth, fresh taste!
